What if we collaborated more?
This past week I had the chance to travel with 3 other EBC staff to attend a 2-day workshop in order to train us how to facilitate the art of collaboration. This was something that was paid for by the company leading this and so we went not knowing what to expect. But as we were there, I began to realize something. So many times, we as leaders prefer to direct the conversation, offer ideas to our teams, or even tell them what and how to do something. The problem is (and there are many) that they never really buy into the plan or strategy because we told them what and how they need to do it. Having this collaborative process and tools in my back pocket is going to only enhance my ability to lead others by including them in the process.
What has made you feel part of the solution in past problem solving situations? Have you been part of a collaboration process before?
