There’s a time to PLAY!!!
Hey everyone. Great to be back on the blog communicating to all of you. Thanks to the hundreds of people who check out this blog each week. It is humbling to know that my thoughts are things that people actually spend time reading.
One of the things that I really appreciate working at Eagle Brook is how hard our staff works. I have never seen a group of people work harder towards accomplishing a mission. God has used this obedience and hard to work change the lives of thousands of people. BUT…as hard as week work sometimes, we also PLAY pretty hard to. This afternoon, we shut down the office for 4 hours (it was really tough to pull many people away) and forced them to take a break. We went to a local park, had a picnic lunch from Famous Dave’s, made fools of ourselves by singing some karaoke songs, and then competed in boche ball, other outdoor games, softball game, and home run derby. Let’s just say you are looking at the bean bag toss champion for 2008. The trophy is quite impressive!
I tell you all this to remind all of us to play once in a while. Take a break from your obligations, your responsibilities, and your work to simply PLAY! It is amazing how that refreshment will restore you, your relationship with others, and your relationship with God. Only when your cup is full can you give of yourself to God and others.
Have you had a chance to “play” lately? If so, what was the result after you did?
