It is great to take a break-
Hey gang…sorry that I have been out of commission for the past couple of weeks. There was a busy stretch, and then there was the last few days. I enjoyed both…although the last few days have been pretty nice:) Let me give you some highlights, as well as other random comments:
- We had a group of 31 people from a church in Norway come and spend 5 days with us at EBC. I had no expectations going into this relationship, but have been blown away by what has resulted. This group of mostly young Norwegians is fired up to reach their city and country for Christ. They were in tears as they began to dream big and look ahead to what God is calling them to do. Keep checking back here as I will give you updates along the way.
- I served as the “fill-in” Campus Pastor a couple weekends ago at our Spring Lake Park Campus. Steve Whicker was gone, so they called in the righthander (some may not get this). I had a blast hanging out at this campus. What a fun place to worship on the weekend!
- This past weekend, 85 people said YES! to Christ!!! That is unbelievable!!! When you think about it…most churches aren’t that big. Jason Anderson gave a message in the Christian Cliches series called “Good People Go to Heaven.” Check it out if you haven’t already heard it.
- The last few days have been very relaxing. My dad, brother, and I had plans to head down to Omaha for the College World Series…basically a lot of baseball games, mixed in with some golf…but plans changed as my grandparents are flooded out from their home in Iowa and are staying with my parents. I was bummed that we couldn’t go, but these few days off work without much planned have been a blessing in disguise.
- You all need to read a book that I haven’t been able to put down since yesterday. It is called “The Shack” by William P. Young. Great book based on a true story that will inspire you and stretch your faith.
- Finally, I’m really glad that NHL hockey and the NBA Finals are finally going to be done with tonight. Do these really need to stretch into June?
Have a great week everyone and hope to post later in the week. Any fun Eagle Brook stories anyone has to share? What has God been doing in your life lately?
