A Different Perspective of Ministry

Hello everyone!  This is the first ever entry in the new “In the Trenches” blog.  I am looking forward to sharing wih you my perspectives on ministry, which may include many behind the scene looks into life at Eagle Brook.  My friend and colleague Jason Anderson started a blog a couple of months ago and it has been fun to interact from a weekend standpoint.  This blog will have a little different flavor to it…it will be much more “non-weekend”…more of a look into the lives of staff, volunteers, and attendees that take part in small groups, mens, womens, students, kids, missions, outreach, addiction recovery, and so on.  I would love to hear your stories as I share my perspective as well.  Any stories or thoughts on minsitry from the last week?

I have one that I will share.  I had the chance to stop by our new singles minsitry called “Elevate” last night and take in their kickoff.  I’m not sure of the official numbers yet, but there had to be close to 500 single adults of all ages there hanging out and connecting into relationships that will hopefully help them grow in their faith.  Bob Stromberg and Michael Pierce Donnely from the world-acclaimed production “Triple Espresso” performed and had the audience rolling on the ground all night-long.  Check out the pics below:

One Response to “A Different Perspective of Ministry”

  1. Becky Peterson Says:

Last night was our Kickoff for our Jr. High Ministry, Ground Zero, and we had a record in attendance with 502 students and leaders! We seemed to run out of everything that night – food for the volunteers (i think I’m one of the few who didn’t get to eat), pizza for students to purchase, Mt. Dew, commitment forms, and my favorite – Fall Retreat flyers! From all those I have talked to, the students loved it and can’t wait to come back and bring their friends! I praise God that He drew in so many more students and leaders than we planned for or imagined, and He definitely gets the glory! For any who read this that have had a part in spreading the word about Ground Zero or help as a volunteer, I want to thank you. You are making a difference!
